PERSONALITY:

You know that thing that made you flinch? I don't get that...I do angry okay, but that's about it...Been this way as long as I can remember. I was uh— about your age when I figured out I was different.

Sameen Shaw is a self-professed sociopath. She insists that the only reason she interacts with her team is for the mission, and she happens to be a very good soldier.

Shaw is a loyal friend, skilled marksman, and thinks dogs are better than people. It's true. She's also exceedingly intelligent, having become a doctor in addition to her time as a Marine and then member of a black ops organization known as the ISA.

For such an accomplished individual she's suprisingly not egotistical. She's very aware of those things that she's good at and those that she's not. Her outlook is very matter of fact.

She's also got a wicked sense of humor and a love of puns.

It's not all sunshine and roses for Sameen Shaw, however. She's known to go off-book and can be a very angry individual when it comes to doing the right thing.

Perhaps the best summation of Sameen can be drawn by a quote by the Machine, from 5x13:

I chose you exactly for who you are, but there’s something I think Root had wanted to say to you. You always thought there was something wrong with you because you don’t feel things the way other people do. But she always felt that was what made you beautiful. She wanted you to know that if you were a shape, you were a straight line. An arrow.
